La Cité de l'Histoire invites you to discover its new immersive exhibition dedicated to Beijing's famous Forbidden City, the former palace of the emperors of China and a UNESCO World Heritage site. For nearly 45 minutes, immerse yourself in the heart of this exceptional place through a journey combining monumental projections, immersive décors, and interactive installations. earth The experience begins with an introduction to Beijing's Central Axis, the symbolic axis around which the imperial capital was organised for centuries. You then continue your journey with a 360° immersive film, narrated through the eyes of three witnesses from different eras: the missionary Matteo Ricci in the 16th century, the French painter Jean-Denis Attiret in the 18th century, and a contemporary traveller. From the discovery of the monumental gates to the imperial apartments, they reveal the secrets of this palace that long remained inaccessible to the outside world. sparkles After the screening, freely explore an interactive space to deepen your visit.
