LES SŒURS HILTON Siamese twins, Daisy and Violet, were born at the beginning of the last century. As illegitimate and disabled children, they were condemned to abandonment, even infanticide. Mary Hilton, the midwife who delivered them, decided to adopt them, more out of greed than Christian charity. Exploited throughout their lives, they passed from hand to hand. First as sideshow freaks, they later became Broadway stars and ended up in oblivion and poverty. Les Sœurs Hilton deals with a universal subject: difference. Valérie Lesort and Christian Hecq take hold of this true story to draw us into a world at the crossroads of cabaret, circus, and music hall. With tenderness and without miserabilism, five multi-talented performers embody the two sisters, their mother, and the artists they frequent. Hilarious or biting sketches, songs, magic tricks: everything follows one another at a frantic pace.
