CORONER
made its first steps in Zurich in 1985 and quickly forged a reputation as one of the most avant-garde and technically fearsome groups of the underground metal scene. With Ron Broder on bass and vocals, Tommy Vetterli on guitar, and Marky Edelmann on drums, the trio released five critically acclaimed albums and a semi-compilation between 1987 and 1994, each pushing the boundaries of thrash metal toward more innovative and experimental territories. The albums they released on Noise Records not only pushed the boundaries of the genre. They dismantled them to replace them with something more incisive. Even today, these albums are considered essential works of the genre. You could say they laid the foundations for what progressive metal would become: a work born from silence, friction, and control

marks its great return with an album with "Dissonance Theory" released in October 2025 via Century Media Records.
