Ces dessins ont été réalisés à partir de photos prises par elle-même parmi lesquelles elle a sélectionné celles qui évoquent les étapes les plus marquantes de la maladie et dont le côté graphique est également un critère de choix.
Certains représentent les lieux, notamment l'hôpital pour celles qui y reçoivent leurs traitements, d'autres les traces laissées sur le corps par les différentes interventions.
D'autres dessins montrent les objets qui accompagnent les moments de soin dans les hopitaux, ils font partie du quotidien du monde médical.
