Plural, free, alive. Singing in Arabic, his mother tongue, in French or in Spanish, Nedjim Bouizzoul, the founder and singer of the band LABESS, demonstrates on stage the power of travel, cross-cultural encounters, and métissage.
Created in Quebec in 2004, Labess claims a new genre: gipsy-chaâbi. A unique blend of rumba and flamenco sounds with chaâbi music originating from Algiers. LABESS, which in Arabic means "Everything is fine", has released 5 albums.
Through their songs, they address light or more serious topics, speaking of solidarity as well as exile, peace, and friendship. An ode to living together, a plebiscite for diversity.
