About — The artist
Marko Tapani Hietala (born 14 January 1966 in Tervo) is a Finnish singer and bassist. He is the bassist for the Finnish bands Nightwish (until 2021) and Tarot, also serving as their vocalist; he is also one of the four vocalists in the band Northern Kings.
Hietala has been known by the stage name Marco Hietala since the early days of Tarot, but since his solo album released in May 2019, he has chosen to use his birth name Marko for all his projects.
