About — The venue

The Théâtre Niçois de Francis Gag is a dialectal theatre company founded in 1936 by Francis Gag.

Its objective is to “maintain and illustrate the Niçois dialect, to revive the ancient customs of Nice and the Niçois region, through the performance of old and new works written in this dialect and inspired by local traditions and the spirit of the land”. The troupe regularly performs at the Théâtre municipal Francis Gag in Nice and has been directed since 1983 by Pierre-Louis Gag (1936-...).
